It’s Youth Advocacy Month 2024!

Fireside Chats
Throughout May, we'll be hosting an array of virtual Fireside Chats with notable youth activists, educators, and change-makers. These dynamic conversations offer a rare chance for young individuals to learn from seasoned mentors, gain invaluable insights, and find inspiration to make a difference. Be sure not to miss these exceptional learning experiences!

Library Workshop
To close off another exciting celebration of youth advocacy month, ODAC hosted a library craft workshop in partnership with Los Angeles public libraries.
Led by one of our high school fellows, Venice Hernandez, the event was a very unique and exciting way to introduce the new generation of youth to the world of advocacy. During the workshop, we were able to teach attendees how to make a paper flower bouquet with youth advocacy month colors and a planter sign with ODAC’s logo, representing our message of "letting life bloom"! All of the community attendees, ranging from 4 to 40 years old, had so much joy creating the craft and learning about all of ODAC’s advocacy work. In the future, we hope to partner with more libraries and host similar events in other communities to highlight the importance of youth advocacy!
Tabling
Tabling is setting up a table at a high traffic event to spread awareness of a cause, ours being organ donation. During youth advocacy month, tabling additionally allowed us to engage with the community and discuss what issues they advocate for.
